Thanks, Michael. I remember being impressed by some of Vaugel's work some years go but on seeing this again I sought out her Web presence for more and was thrilled by the greatness of her achievements. (You can see _The First Survivor_ from other viewpoints, too.) Hers is an originality born of an uncompromising heroic spirit. This takes courage:
Ralph, I’m glad you commented! Birth From the Heart is wonderful and it is also her creative manifesto, her passion is driving motive force, and instead of being in conflict with the mind, her mind helps make the project succeed.
My first impression of this FabulousPowerfulBeautiful sculpture was: *This* is the Sovereign Individual. Thanks for featuring Martine’s incredible work again, Michael. I, too, revisited her website, and I’m in complete agreement with Ralph Blanchette’s comment about being moved to tears…in my case it was her “Universal Soldier.” 🌟
Thanks for adding your wonderful comment, Michael. I hope to add more of her works to the book project. On personal note, her First Survivor followed Michelangelo’s David and I felt no let down by the comparison.

I was initially shocked and then moved to tears by her _Birth from the Heart_.

Thank you Michael. I agree … both sculptures speak to the depth of your SOULSCAPE concept.
