Wonderful stories and fabulous art, Michael. Love “Artemis” and “Venus” (perhaps especially Venus in her deep blue depths of golden, gorgeous, feminine beauty), and your architect friend’s ingenious solution for a bedroom/library in the loft. Wow!
I also enjoyed the “Tiny Racquets” story! It was reminiscent of the story Sasha Latypova told in her recent substack where the “Watson-Crick Nobel prize was given for a 1-page theoretical paper, where a salt of DNA was imaged (not at all the same as DNA) and a lot of assumptions, assertions and hand-waving was made.”
Outstanding commentary, Michael I appreciate it very much. And so interesting you drew the connection to the silly Nobel prize from the tiny rackets episode. I think that’s hilarious.
Thanks Michael! It is hilarious but also concerning when you think of how many other instances of this kind of hocus-pocus may have been foisted on the unsuspecting populace! 😬
First of all, the art in here is a feast for the eyes. I am awed at your command of the human form and I just love your plein air work. The charcoals are also a favorite; the twin towers in particular. I love the still lifes, as well. So much incredible art from this period in your career. I enjoyed reading about your life experiences, joys, struggles, and inspirations. Thank you for sharing this memoir.
Thank you for taking the time to read it and that you enjoy the work! After I published it I divided the chapter into two, the first on the NY stories, and the second on the artwork. : )
How interesting! Thank you
Enjoyed reading and looking at all of this. Thank you.
Appreciated thank you.
Michael. Fascinating. I appreciate your stories.
I know I like this before I read it, but I will be reading this later in the evening when I can absorb myself in your work! 😍😍😍
I appreciate the heads up @Charlotte Pendragon .

You are very welcome! I like the idea of breaking it into two ☺️
