Bravo 👏👏👏 You did not sell your Soul and stuck to your Truth, for which you have been rewarded in the only place that matters. The promised land.
You have articulated your knowledge of the duplicitous nature of being human, plagued by craving of and for this world, whilst holding yourself apart from it. This takes an incredible integrity.
Yes Michael, we may Fall from Grace, and we may taste bitterness, and that bitterness may indeed Try our Souls in the extreme however, when you have received The Calling, and heard it too, there is no substitute for the Sublime.
What a story! I will carry it with me to live in a special category of prophesy-story I now realize I have collected in my mind (thanks to your story here). Some young people really know who they are from early on.
When I was coaching teens in writing essays for college admissions, I would look for those clues as I know that authenticity trumps all else. Sadly some teens walked in ONLY focused on what they thought others wanted to hear, so I tried mightily to make sure that they left my realm with not only authentic essays about themselves , but true insights into their unique selves that they might honor. You and your friend here obviously didn’t need that kind of guidance. How critical and lovely to create and live a life that is truly your own. Bravo!
Happy you commented with your experience teaching teenagers. Lots of tennis players have been thankful for the sport in shaping their characters. There is nowhere to hide your real self and owning it.
You've lived an exciting life following your dreams! Synchrony guided you in your adventures and you didn't miss it's clues! Enjoying your story Michael, it's inspiring
I’ve stayed in a few of those places in Paris in Europe, doing so like yourself. I’ve never met a Rothchild, but the extreme wealthy in that position loved to elevate me to a higher social position by treating us to limousines and the finest food. Access to that level of high society allows your mind to want to stay there. You don’t want to go back home to your broken down Toyota…Lol. The lavish lifestyle can be tempting to persue. And for me, a kid from a middle class common family from one of the poorest areas in America, I was humbled and impressed by how well the extreme powerful wealthy treat those in the creme de la creme of entertainment, sports and arts. They make you felel more special then themselves. That was my experience. Weighing his options, Chris’s future probably unfolded before him and seeing himself as an aging tennis teacher on a court telling stories from his golden days . He wanted to continue being part of that greater thing he touched during your tennis tour in France. To accomplish that feat he had to trade the trajectory of his life. Only money can get you there.
You on the other hand followed your artistic dreams, your passion, which by that time sitting together musing over dinner was cemented on your heart. Life is beautiful Michael, thank you for allowing entrance to some of your space. It’s an honor to be invited to see your real life play.
Holy cow! Intelligence agents and Rothschilds. 😎 And, by the way, I would have asked Mrs Rothschild the exact question you asked…it was a natural follow-up! Such wonderful experiences. You had a strong, clear inner light guiding you at quite a young age…and you still do! ✨
Thank you Michael. It is so much fun being older to clearly see and share this stuff. Yeah, right, wouldn't it have been impressive on her birthday to pack an overnight bag then fly a private jet at that moment?!
A true Renaissance Man! I was at the Deauville Film Festival once and stayed at the Royal hotel. I could feel the Coco Chanel's and Great Gatsby spirit in it for some reason. Anyway amazing article.
Thank you Deborah. Its a little like your story, that moment of your hair being braided, it's so special, when you compare it to say walking on a red carpet, the latter doesn't have nearly the importance.
Yesss, something inside of us wanting to touch beyond the surface. Yearning to be free from those worldly chains that hold us back from our own creativity and purpose. I have felt this my entire life. If you're going to rise on your own accord, unchained from the "record deal," so to speak, doing it your way, ... your life and legacy will be far more impactful in what you leave behind. In how many hearts you touched, not how many red carpets you walked or professional makeup & hair sessions you had ❤️
It's how we use our lives and passions to connect and make others feel worthy in the process. ox
Very wonderful to think of you as so young and unimpressed by the wealth that was being flaunted in front of you; instead following your heart and intuition to become a creator of beautiful things. Thank you for sharing!
What an inspiring account of your life!
Thank you Eric!

Well done, I applaud you, sir. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Elliot, very happy that is your takeaway.

Wonderful, thank you Kara. In the simplest way I love making art, using that as a compass brought through all kinds of scenarios.

Absolutely. And one wonders why she didn’t do precisely that, when she effortlessly could have!

Thank you Margo! 😀💜💫
Love that you weren't swayed by glitz and glamour and followed your dreams! Great piece ✨
