This was very interesting, especially since I was not familiar with this painting. I appreciate the way you describe art. Thank you so much.

It’s amazing how much of these artistic principles you can pull out of here and apply to stage lighting. Thank you for the lovely important lesson! ✨💖🤗

Great observation. The once great art school Otis College of Art and Design, hired me to teach one day a week. Their concept was the majority of the teachers were professionals in the fields, and could spare one day, but couldn't or wouldn't work full time. This way the students were learning from the pros. I taught the coveted foundation year (1st year) life drawing, the pillar of western civilization art. Starting with the bones we developed proportion, form, anatomy, spatial depth, and light and shadow. Every major had to take it, but it gave them the fundamentals that they would be able to apply to anything in their fields of design, architecture, fashion and fine art. Not to be outshone the other practices developed fundamentals, for instance in color harmonies in graphic design. The students would isolate the major colors of masterpiece fine art work, like a Tiepolo https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/437792 . Make color swatches from the painting, then take those color swatches to make a graphic design. Some of those design teachers even did that in nature, to go on walks collecting dirt, leaves, rocks, and do the same with those colors. Brilliant. I don't know if the school kept up those traditions.
