Is it possible to learn these techniques? Or does one have to be gifted with that ability? Your work is extremely interesting to me. I feel you may be already saying some of the things I want to say. Plus I have this desire to draw and paint but I’ve never had the ability. Anyhow thank you for your perspective.
Hey Joel, I had thought I answered this. Sorry for the delay. In teaching art school Iv given A’s to students that did the lessons and learned the techniques though they didn’t have a lot of innate talent. The interesting thing is they got the knowledge and understood the aesthetics. Some of them went on to different art fields like architecture and graphic design very successfully.
I love that still life.

I appreciate the response. I think learning the techniques just might be the most important part.
Thank you for your perspective. I’ve been looking over your writing the last day or so and I feel I’m learning alot.
Excellent. I’v mentioned elsewhere I’m happier with the revision, like you mentioned learning a lot! That’s the plan. :)
