I have never heard of using the little finger as a unit of measurement. I like the idea of measuring against the nose for a portrait, too. Thank you for sharing these tips for increased accuracy and beauty, they are so helpful!
Thank you so much Joyce. A bit of background, I was a horrible student and stubborn, flunked all my spelling and writing assignments. But after college (I was on a sports scholarship and art major, no need for damn English) I read a lot. I learned to write quite late. So I am especially happy with your comment about my writing.
Well, I really love the way you write about art. And, thankfully, there’s more to life than spelling (and I know you’ll find errors in mine 🙈), but your art speaks its own language.
Michael, as a nonartist I find your art tutorials help me understand the human body better. Physique contests are all about symmetry and the balance of body parts. It's intriguing for me to see all that down on paper following natural rules and laws. Thank you you again for sharing the artist in you! 🥰🎨 🧑🎨
You are so welcome, Charlotte, and thank you. BTW, your proportions are amazing. You know I revised these art tutorials, because I didn't think they were communicating clearly enough, so I am very happy the new versions resonate. Relief. : )
Thank you @Antonia for restacking.

Jenn, your comment makes me happy! So glad you find the tutorials helpful.
Very helpful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Wonderful article about Polyclitus’s work and (missing) text. Love your writing about art 💙🙏🌿💫
