The Seventh Day: Painting, Poetry, and Process
My painting, a poem by Trudy Nicola, and a time-lapse of its creation.
A special thanks to
for her powerful poetry based on my paintings from the Space Series.Seventh Day
Space Series Poetry #6
And so the seventh day arrives Primeval dawn, whence all derives With satisfaction through labour born The one Creator surveys this morn A universe made on a whim Collated heavens, all life within A separation of dark and light The birth of time, of day, of night Though formless then, the spirit stirred Within the void, creation heard All living things began to form Disparate matter condensed, conformed As energetic chaos unleashed The Creator saw all and was pleased As earth and sky and waters emerge Abundant fruits and grass converge Observing each day's work anew The sun, the moon, as stars accrue All manner of creatures breathe their first And humankind, as yet uncursed And so the seventh day arrives The Creator rests and closes eyes That saw each possibility For completion and for sanctity.

The time lapse is brilliant!
