Newberry, San Onofre Violet, pastel
Create out of love and you rise to match it.
Signed today. This piece of San Onofre continues variations on color theory. Violet atmosphere, orange light, blue tinted dark plus a little cheating. The waves were so bright, cool yellow is the opposite of violet, so to make them pop, I added yellow to their white highlights. Feels exquisite to me. This theory I am developing is working ... it will be fun testing it further with different colored atmospheres and contrasting tints of light and shadow. It seems potential combinations are as extensive as the spectrum of colors.
This opens so many emotional and creative possibilities to create technical themes for other works. It is subjective but I believe colors convey emotional states. Being able to triangulate the atmosphere, light, and shadow colors is pushing the boundaries on a very sophisticated level.
Looking at the finished piece while I was cooking dinner, carnitas with warm Mexican coleslaw, I felt a change in my blood temperature, ripples of vibrations up my spine, and I began to cry -- in part relief that it works and in part loving the beauty of the piece.
Create out of love and you rise to match it.
