Deal with reality it not only is psychologically safe, but it brings one closer to the truth.
Pushing against my color theory with this one. Making gold-ochre the atmosphere and the tint of the distance, yellow the light, and violet the tint influencing the foreground and shadows. It reminds me of Greek Icons of Christ with their gold leaf. I definitely had to stretch my with the foamy parts, as they reflected some of the sky, and it was counter-intuitive to reflect the gold on the water, but it gave the water wonderful variations on green.
There is a an interesting metallic feeling to this, as if it were burnished on copper. Like if you were to tap it it might make a gong sound.
Art is so weird as an experience, it is as if god dropped me into a caldron of chaos, and forced me to make sense of things I never saw before, and somehow organize the confusion into an elegant coherent statement of beauty -- makes me laugh. It is such a fragile delicate line between glory and going crazy. But I have a secret. sheush ... as long as I deal with reality it not only is psychologically safe, but if feels as if I am closer to truth.
