Newberry, Olympia
Have you ever been torn between good and bad?
Many artists and writers have penchant for high contrast between light and dark, good and bad, and, often, like to combine them in both technique and subject. My painting, Olympia, has a colorful history which will become more pronounced as history unfolds.
The model for the painting is Jennifer Grossman, CEO of The Atlas Society, a think tank based on the promotion of novelist Ayn Rand's ideas. It took a lot of character for Jennifer to volunteer to pose for this. She is accustomed to taking on challenges in the political, intellectual, business realms, and perhaps the espionage world as well? She told me she had always wanted to be Bond girl, but she probably didn't mean as an actress in a movie ... With this painting she branches out into art. A more dangerous territory than most people understand. More to come about this painting.
