Available Figurative Drawings
Figurative art, the great symbol of individuality, uniqueness, and empathy.
Today I have opened my studio figurative drawing portfolio and updating and uploading available drawings. https://www.artworkarchive.com/profile/michael-newberry/collection/figurative-drawings
While doing that, it is ongoing (just taking this break now), I have been thinking of significance of figurative nude art and life drawings:
They are predominately solitary figures.
There is no hiding behind the status of clothes or props.
Normally there are all kinds of body types and adult ages.
The body is the main source of expression, their body language.
When you put it together the figurative art nude is one of the greatest representations of human empathy, individuality, uniqueness, and authenticity.
There seems to be an epidemic of people having a horrible time with their identities. Hiding behind tattoos, florescent hair, crossplay, and intense piercings. In a mundane way, most people hide behind status fashion fads, of being some kind of bombshell or macho man. Sometimes they get so caught up in that outside image, and not in a small way with the incessant commercial PsyOp'ing, that they have no idea who they really are, and can't bear to look at themselves in the mirror.
Manipulative powers, like politicians, pharmaceuticals, news agencies, and social media take unconscionable and ruthless advantage of less than confident people; and herd them like sheep. Those powers have one enemy, they cannot control a self-confident individual. And no one gains self-confidence through role-playing.
I just can't stand seeing the phony clowns dressed as drag queens reading to children. I am a bit lucky there, I don't every remember seeing a clown up close. It is as far away from an authentic human being you can get. And why would anyone expose children to such frauds? It is sick. To lessor extent you have adults, mostly males, loving superman and other hero-action figures. There is some billionaire that has a collection plastic superhero figures. It is an interesting fantasy, but on a deeper metaphysical level, they send a pathetic message to real humans, without unbelievable superpowers you will never be anything!
Figurative art predates religion, philosophy, and the written word by over 30,000 years. It is perhaps the most important human achievement, mostly likely along with music (but we only have evidence of musical instruments like a flute). Figurative art integrates our inner network of emotion, thought, and visual perception leading the a way for us knowing ourselves.
As familiar as figure drawing is to us, it holds the key to self-esteem. Every art collection should have a smattering of figurative nudes. Be enlightened and humble, and treat yourself to figurative nude art.
